Your first visit will be your longest visit since Dr. Sullivan has never treated you before. She will take her time to learn about your health history, perform a thorough exam, and provide you with your first treatment (unless medically inadvisable). You should plan to be in the office for about 75 minutes.
New Patient Forms
Upon entering our office, you will be welcomed as a new member of our family. We request that you complete our online patient forms, which will be emailed to you after booking your first appointment. This allows us to devote your entire appointment time to you and your condition, rather than spending about a third of it filling out paperwork.
Health History
Next, Dr. Sullivan will review your intake forms with you so she can get a thorough health history. You also will have the opportunity to discuss and inquire about your health-related issues and concerns. This part of the visit is designed for Dr. Sullivan to learn more about you, your health condition(s), and your expectations to determine how chiropractic care can help you meet your health goals.
Examination
After discussing your history, Dr. Sullivan will perform a complete chiropractic examination and/or NeuroKinetic Therapy® evaluation, which will consist of orthopedic, neurological, physical and postural tests. However, nothing will be done outside of your comfort zone or without your prior consent.
Initial Treatment
At the conclusion of your first visit, you will receive your initial treatment, unless the results your examination indicate it is unsafe to do so. This may include a combination of spinal and/or extremity (feet, knees, hips, shoulders, elbows, wrists, etc.) adjustments, soft tissue treatment, physical therapy modalities, and/or corrective exercises. Treatments are always interactive and at the discretion of the patient, so feel free to express questions, concerns, or preferences at any time.
